Create, wear, and display your own mask! In this course taught by
artist J. Anthony Kosar, you will learn the professional process on
how to design, create, and finish your own latex half-mask, beginning
with character/creature concept design fundamentals. Next you will
learn sculpting techniques used by FX masters in the industry, how to
properly mold your sculpture in stone, and how to cast your mask in
rubber latex. Finally, you will learn various professional approaches
to painting and finishing your mask for display, portfolio, and for
wear. This course will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and
hands-on learning. All materials included, including a sculpting tool
set for you to keep! Be prepared to take notes.

NOTE: The Art of Mask Making course will be required for enrollment in the Advanced Mask Making course where students will learn advanced techniques for making a full head mask. The Art of Mask Making is also required for enrollment in the Advanced Make-Up FX course where students will sculpt and apply their own prosthetics.

Enrollment Information:
Classes open to all Adults, College Students, and High School students. To inquire on anyone younger than High School age, please contact us at Studio@KosartEffects.com to seek approval. FOR THE ART OF MASK MAKING: There is no enrollment deadline, students can enroll at the door on first day of class. However, seating is limited so reserve your spot and enroll today! To redeem a gift certificate, the recipient must have a PayPal account and enroll in a class or workshop online through this website only. Buying a gift certificate does not automatically enroll the recipient into a class or workshop. Instructions are on the gift certificate. Credit/debit cards are only accepted through Paypal. Send payment via Paypal.com by filling in all required fields and clicking "Pay Now" button (Above Right) prior to the start of the first class. Due to tools and materials supplied by Kosart Effects Studios to the students, fees are non-refundable. However, students who miss a class day are invited to make up the same class day during another available course session. All course dates are subject to change. If a class date is canceled and/or postponed, it is up to Kosart Effects Studios when the class will be rescheduled. If classes are canceled and/or postponed by Kosart Effects Studios only, students will have the option to keep their spot for the rescheduled dates or receive a refund. Kosart Effects Studios and J.
