Bring your prosthetic creation to the next level of REALISM! In this intense 4-day course of learning the latest techniques in prosthetic creation, you will learn the professional process on how to design, create, and apply your own encapsulated silicone prosthetics. Utilizing the skills and techniques taught in both the ART OF MAKE-UP FX and the ART OF MASK MAKING, you will now learn new advanced sculpting techniques to sculpt your appliance over a provided partial life-cast as well as a flat-mold prosthetic, focusing on realistic injury and trauma make-up as seen in countless films and television programs. Next you will learn advanced, more specific mold-making techniques to properly mold your appliance sculptures in stone. You will then learn to prepare your molds and apply the bald-cap plastic encapsulate, then properly tint and cast the platinum-based silicone. Then, you will learn how to apply the silicone gel-filled appliances, and realistically paint the encapsulated silicone to look like skin, followed by safe removal techniques. This course will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and HANDS-ON learning. NOTE: Both the Art of Make-Up FX and the Art of Mask Making course will be required for enrollment in the Encapsulated Silicone Appliance course. This class also teaches different techniques than what is learned in the Advanced Make-Up FX course, as this course teaches encapsulated silicone rather than foam-latex prosthetics, which are both excellent techniques to have in your special effects arsenal. It is recommended but not required to first take the Advanced Make-Up FX course. Students will not be creating a life-cast of their face in this course, but will be using a generic one instead (select male or female when enrolling). All materials included, including an advanced sculpting tool set, a partial life-cast, and an advanced prosthetic make-up kit for you to keep! Be prepared to take notes, and be sure to bring your sculpting set you received from ART OF MASK MAKING and your make-up kit received from the ART OF MAKE-UP FX on the first day of the ENCAPSULATED SILICONE PROSTHETICS class.
